At Talenvo, we have a goal to empower young tech talents to be the best in any given field.
Through simulated projects which resemble real-world problems, our talents have worked on the EduConnect project and produced outstanding results.
In this article, we featured our top performers from this project and we’re excited to share their feedback !
What The EduConnect Project Is All About
This project was conducted last year also. It was the second half of the 30-Day Pre-Hackathon Challenge.
The challenge was divided in two 14-day phases, the first being the Civic Track Project.
Our tech talents worked hard in different teams, and through collaboration and brainstorming ideas, they came up with practical solutions for each project.

Educonnect, is a platform that was designed to aid learning for secondary school students across Africa with helpful tools.
The major aim was to tackle the knowledge gap between students by building a community with reliable academic resources for easier learning.
The platform featured interactive learning tools such as, sections to answer questions and share knowledge on various topics.

1. What drew you to participate in the EduConnect Project?
The opportunity to contribute to a platform aimed at enhancing education accessibility and collaboration was the primary key. The concept of bridging the gap between students and tutors sat well with me.
Additionally, the challenge of building a scalable and user-friendly system was something I was eager to tackle.

2. Brief description of the problem the project addressed.
The project tackled the lack of accessible, student-friendly resources in public secondary schools across Africa, limiting students’ ability to get quick answers to their study questions.

3. A brief description of the solution, the approach.
We built a platform where students could ask questions and get help from tutors or peers. The platform also allows questions and answers to be upvoted, so those with higher upvotes are more visible so that students can find the most relevant and helpful answers stand out.
It was designed to be simple and accessible, with features that made connecting easy and fast.

4. What made the project special?
It was special because I have siblings that always struggle to find a platform to help with assignments, so this was a beautiful idea and it became a good project that I was more interested in when I had a team that was as interested and ready to bring this beautiful idea to reality. The experience was nice and good collaboration was the icing on the cake.

5. What challenges were faced, and how were they resolved?
One of the major challenges was ensuring the platform’s scalability and maintaining a seamless user experience despite heavy data flow. We resolved this by optimizing database queries and implementing caching strategies.
Another hurdle was creating an engaging UI that was accessible to users with varying levels of tech proficiency, which we addressed through iterative user testing.

6. What was the general experience like using the Talenvo platform?
Talenvo was very helpful in streamlining the process. It provided the tools we needed to collaborate, organize our ideas, and track our progress. I appreciated how intuitive it was, which made things smoother overall.
Talenvo also helped by showing us tasks based on our roles, which kept everything clear and well-organized.

7. What advice do you have for future participants?
My advice for future participants is to stay organized, communicate often, and collaborate with your team. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and keep the user experience top of mind throughout.
